Smith LaRock has partnered with Romito Foundation in designing their new Camp Thunder Mountain for kids with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).
Wines at Mile High Fundraiser
On June 18, 2011 The Romito Foundation held its annual fundraising event at Invesco Field at Mile High in Denver, CO – Wines at Mile High.
The event was a great success and included wine tasting, silent auction, and a quick presentation by Foundation President, Richard Romito and some of the kids with DMD (see images below). SLA also had presentation boards highlighting Camp Thunder Mountain (those boards can be seen here).
Recognizing a need for young men afflicted with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), “Camp Thunder Mountain” is a vision of Richard Romito. As a father of 3 boys with DMD, Richard identified a need for the Camp after discovering that most Muscular Dystrophy camps end camper benefits at the age of 17. Young men afflicted with DMD often live to well into their 20’s. Camp Thunder Mountain will offer its services to children afflicted with ANY form of Muscular Dystrophy. The camp will center around a large recreational lodge and plans to offer movies, fitness activities, a library, comfortable bunk houses, therapeutic pools, and a wide range of other amenities.[singlepic id=177 w=570 h=425 float=none] [nggallery id=31]
